Simone Battle, who rose to fame as a finalist on the 2011 season of “The X Factor” was found dead in Los Angeles on Friday. TMZ is reporting that the 25-year-old singer committed suicide.
In 2012 Battle joined the girl band "G.R.L." Their infectiously catchy song, “Ugly Heart” was released early this summer and became a global hit. The group first gained notice when they sang the chorus to Pitbull’s hit song, “Wild Wild Love.”
An official statement from her record label, Reign Deer Entertainment, Robin Antin, Kemosabe Records and RCA records reads, "We are deeply saddened by the tragic news of the loss of Simone Battle of G.R.L. Simone was an exceptional young talent and human being, and we are all devastated to learn of her passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and loved ones at this time."
